This one is going to be a little short, as my three- quarters temple trip is tomorrow, and I'm supposed to be spending time today to prepare for it. I'll give you the quick run-down.
This week was a little weird. Mario is ignoring us, which is pretty annoying, because we know he has a couple doubts, but he just won't talk to us about them. We've been finding a lot of other people, though, who are just ready to learn. We also had a great lesson with Lucy, an inactive sister, who has had a lot of problems stemming from a terrible branch president, who really did do some bad things, and some prideful members. The problem is that Lucy is letting these people keep her from salvation, and is letting these people's actions poison her entire life. It really reminded me of my experience when I had depression in Westbury and Far Rock, so I was able to connect super well. One of the best lessons yet in this area.
I've been a little sick the past few days- intense aches in my neck and shoulders and upper back, a whammy of a headache, a small cough, but I'm mostly better now. Some sleep and deep blue cured
me. I was able to go out and do missionary work without too much trouble, though.
I was reading in the teachings of Joseph Fielding Smith, and I read about how he didn't baptize a single person on his mission, and how he left his newly married wife of one year to go to England. It was a huge comfort to me, and to feel a bit of a connection to this prophet of the Lord who didn't have a 'numerical' success on his mission. The Lord really spoke to me through it, and it's helped kindle that
missionary fire again.
I got my package- thanks so much for that!
I'll write soon, and tell you how my temple trip went.
Love you all,
Elder Hull
