On the other hand, it will be good to get a change of scenery. I've been here for half of my mission- five months. The missionaries here are either good friends, or I'm super frustrated with them and their methods. It'll be good to start off with a new companion, new area, and I plan to hit the ground running. I've come up with a new weekly schedule for my studies, for daily exercise, and for my writing projects that I look forward to putting into effect this transfer. It's like that song in the Lord of the Rings- "The road goes ever on and on/ down from the door where it began/ and I must follow if I can..." That's just where I feel like I am at the moment. The road calls me on (or, more specifically, the Lord does), and I must away. You can bet anything that I will be back in Far Rockaway, though. Far Rockaway and Brooklyn.
Our new year was pretty boring. We stayed in at six, but Elder Sewell just wanted to make food. That kinda blew up all of our plans for the night, but Elder Moe and I played a few games of Pandemic just the two of us (and actually won most of the time- and Pandemic is a hard game to beat!), we opened a bottle of Martinelis given us by the sisters, and I ate half a gallon of cookies and cream ice cream. For the record, I went to bed at 10:33.
As far as the continuation of Elder S's story, last Monday we went to the office, he had an interview with President, and right after that we left to go get his stuff and take him to the airport. The cool part of it is that I got to sit shotgun with President Reynolds and chat for an hour or two when we drove back to Far Rock. He's a pretty cool guy. We talked about trips that we've had, our family history, and he even gave me some tips on how to help some friends stay strong and progressing in the gospel while I'm away. It was pretty neat. After we picked up Elder S's stuff, they (President, the Assistants, and Elder S) dropped me back off with the Zone Leaders, and left for the airport. And that was that.
Not a whole lot else to report. No pictures this week- there'll be more next week.
Love,
Elder Richard Brandt Hull
