Another transfer come and gone. Whew. Only three left- they'll go fast. I'm staying here in Freeport with Elder Benitez for one more, which I'm happy about. I wouldn't mind staying in Freeport until the end of my mission. It's a good place, with great people.
Yeah, my trek was pretty great. Not my biggest testimony-builder (not everything has to be, and that's not to say it didn't strengthen it), but I had a ton of fun. My Ma and Pa were the Larsen's. That's a bummer that Madi wasn't able to go, though. I'm glad Spencer got to go, and it sounds like he's been growing spiritually by leaps and bounds since I left. I can't wait to come home and get to know everyone again... And then promptly leave for college again.
Not much to tell but I've got a story for dad, though. I don't think I've told this one yet. There's this guy who owns the shop across the street from the church. He's from Guyana We call him the Beguiler. Here's why. One night we're walking back to our car from street contacting, and he stops us. Usually we have decent conversations with him, but this time it was evident that he'd had a little too much to drink. He starts talking about how the OK sign actually means 666. Then he brings up how Satan beguiled eve, saying that beguile means to "deceivingly have relations with." Then he claims that Cain was satan's son, and that there is a race of lizard men descended from Cain living in the center of the earth. We were just kinda sitting there like 'no, you've been beguiled.' The Beguiler shall be remembered... People are funny. There was another guy we met who at first seemed normal, but then started trying to convince us that there are aliens who live on the moon, and that "your right hand is actually your left," because the government is being controlled by the aliens, and the aliens have a giant base in the Amazon forest and under the sea, and that's why so many people disappear in the Amazon. He told us to go check out this YouTube video that would explain it all. Yeah, people are really funny.
Other than that, we're still working with Javy, taking him out with us when he's not working. I'm so relieved to be staying another transfer and working with these amazing people. Everyone else is doing fine. We're thinking about giving Mario another shot- we'll probably visit him later this week. Other than that, not too much to report.
All my love,
Elder Hull
