I really, really loved this weekend! Conference was amazing! My two favorite talks from the whole thing were given by Elder Hales's, and also President Eyring in the Priesthood Session. That last one really really changed me. I am so happy to see the new apostles. They feel to me like apostles in the fullest. I hope everyone else got at least as much as I did out of it. We actually had one of our best and most promising investigators come to see the sessions on Saturday. His name is William, and he is from Guatemala. His story is absolutely amazing. He grew up super poor, speaking a dialect, not even Spanish proper. He eventually learned Spanish, and heard stories about America, and decided he wanted to try to go to America. He nearly died of starvation and heat as he walked to America across Mexico, and almost drowned as he crossed a river twice. He got caught at the boarder, but because he knows someone in Manhattan, he got sent to Far Rock. He is super humble, and when we asked him if he would pray about whether or not to take the discussions, he said that he already knew he needs to.
My companion is fine - he finished the rest of his meds, and is doing great. We're still not sure how he got Lyme's disease, as we never even saw the tics, but we're pretty sure it's because he touches just
about everything as he walks along. He ought to be fine. I have a slight cough, and I've been getting headaches recently, but other than that, I'm fine also.
I don't know if you heard about hurricane Joaquin, but while we didn't get hit (it looked like we were for a day or so), we did get pummeled by a ton of rain, and early November weather. The fall temperatures
lasted a couple weeks, and then plummeted rapidly. There were a bunch of places where it flooded a ton.
Well, that's the major news of the week. We taught 13 lessons this week, and we're hoping to teach even more.
All my love,
Elder Richard Brandt Hull
